Thank you soooooooo much! She has been bathed and patted dry and the Vetericyn was applied. First feeding of the cream...she isnt happy with me lol..but hopefully this will start her rehab. Ill bathe her again when I get home from work tomorrow.
Ok no push back when I did this. The area has blueish spots that’s I could not wipe off. Still only white discharge. She is alert and getting pissed at me lol but alive
Checked her crop this morning still kinda mushy. She hasn’t eaten but I’ve made her drink some water. Still alert and will move some. Only poop is a white discharge
Ok will do.
as for her as a layer. I’ve never observed her laying now that I think about it but I’m gone most of the weekdays. I will say during the summer I averaged an egg a chicken a day ( 15 ) so I’ll assume she was laying.
the only discharge poop up to this point has been white
She is 9 months old. By farrrr my sweetest girl. I noticed the last week or do I’d see her use her wing for balance so I was keeping an eye on her.
thank you so much for the help. She is inside now she will drink but hasn’t eaten but is alert.
I found my Speckled Sussex hiding under the door to the coop. She had been attacked by her sisters ( she has always been low girl in the pecking order)
I’ve cleaned her wounds and sprayed with Vetericyn. She is getting lots of water with nitri drench and vetrx
she is alert and resting...
My girls, not all but some, make almost a growling noise when I come to the coop. They arent aggressive at all and rush to greet me at the run door but Id love to know what they are trying to say.
Any idea.
So I have 15 girls who are all 5 months old
one laid a small egg Wednesday I was crazy excited
but nothing since
I’m worried they are eating the eggs or does sometimes a chicken take awhile before laying again
I’m going to build a bath area for my girls
I’m wondering how high is to high. I was going to use 4x4 to frame it out. Is that to low?
also going to use peat sand and diatomaceous dirt in it
any suggestions , pointers?
