I think it may have been vent gleet because it responded to yeast infection medicine but I don’t really know as I don’t have a medical degree and don’t diagnose. I don’t know what you do for prolapsed vent. There are posts others suggested what to do for that. Thank you. It is a relief to know...
See photos. Also (I did antifungal cream for 3-4 days 3x a day). However, I also tried to make sure the quail passed some poop before treatment but the quail was not really passing much poop. So first used liquid instead of cream- I started with using azo crushed pill and water to help with...
This worked well for me but remember I’m not a doctor. I put yeast infection cream in an eye dropper by squeezing the tube into it. Then plunged some of it into The vent three times a day. About 4-6mm. I also First Cleaned the vent gently with warm water squeezed and padded with paper towel...
Thank you. I’m not really seeing any picking or movement in either egg. Maybe I should wait. Or maybe I should help. What is the rational behind helping them now?
Thanks. When I did the candling I had a hard time seeing. It’s all dark to me. When I made the safety it looked like dark color underneath... maybe feathers. Maybe I should try a different spot to do a safety hole.
I put a safety hole in each. I’m not sure if the membrane is open enough. I use a stick pin to Polk through but the flap appears to close back. The safety hole really tiny. I hope they get air. I understand they may not live but it’s worth a try.
When I candled last night it all looked dark and we put them in water and they slightly floated with most of the egg under water. I thought they are probably alive then. Would the top where they floated likely be the air sack to make a safety hole?
Thanks! We had a total of five viable Coturnix quail eggs. Two hatched on their own. The third we had to assist because of membrane stuck to his head. He is doing well with the others now. It’s 22 days and we have two not hatched in the incubator. I was debating on helping them pip or just...
