I’m like 90% sure, we’ve had chickens before so I trust my kid. The neck feathers are different than the other birds, and the comb and wattle is more pronounced.

Is there anyone near Purcellville, Hillsboro, Hamilton, or Lovettsville that would be willing to either take our rooster or trade for a hen. He’s approximately 3 months, my son son swears he was crowing, but I haven’t heard anything yet.
I would agree as I have heard many broody hens hatching different breeds and species. You just have to laugh at the situation. I had so much hope every time, only for her to abandon nest every time! But I have hope that maybe she will get it next year! I am in the cycle of hope, nope, repeat! 😂...
Mine are only a year old but I had a gen that spent the summer “going broody,” just to abandon the eggs. She would gather all the eggs, go broody for about 2 weeks and then just shift to the next nesting box over. she would shift faster if she saw me gather eggs. it’s like she was incensed...
if they are all males, I know one local feed store near me does chicken swap meets, and another sells pullets in May. I’d probably just buy pullets, they are a little older and you wouldn’t be guessing.
If you do have more rooster than you want/need, keep an eye on social media, craigslist, the local feed store, or even on here, there is a forum called “where am I, where are you?”
