The second run is 98% complete. Two more boards to add. I have not opened it up to the first run. I want to give them a little side by side time before I do that

The bale of hay was up there to show my grandkids what Big Pop had made and yes the chandelier does work. That was my wife’s idea

There is a small slope. So far no back wash and we have had some really hard rains here lately.

Not a great picture but I was able to get the tin roofing slid under the roof tin. The chickens are enjoying being able to go outside and be dry during this rainy season. It will be a great shady area this summer.

Just a couple more pictures of the ongoing run build. I am getting tin for the roof over the stairs. I like them to have some dry places to get out of the rain without having to stay inside when it’s raining.

This is building the run for the second chicken coop.

Two separate buildings the white one has vents totally around the eaves and there are windows on three sides in both buildings.

The below picture give an idea of the soffits but not really. Between each rafter I cut a piece to fit in and then drilled 10 1 inch wholes into it and then covered the wholes with 1/4” hardware cloth. Cupola is just for looks. I had someone else do the metal roof and I couldn’t ask the to cut...

I designed the coop with the built in nesting boxes. My wife and I were on a trip coming through GA. and we stopped into an Antique Store and she saw these old nesting boxes and she just had to have them. So there they are. Happy wife great laying chickens.
