Darn! I never knew it was so common to lose chicks like this either. Everyone makes it sound like raising hens from chicks is super easy. I lost 2 of my 5, just laid down and died. Now a 3rd has a protruded vent and I am afraid I may have to cull her if she doesn't heal. Heartbreaking.
