How do I sell my chickens?

My chickens (17 months old) aren't going to be able to come with me when I move. 😔 They've been great layers and brooders and I want to see if I can recoup some of the money I've spent over the last year by selling them. Where can I post them for sale? I heard Facebook doesn't allow livestock...

    Blood in coop/nest

Found some blood in the nesting area of the coop. There was 1 egg and blood on the two fake eggs I have in there. I checked bums and found nothing concerning, except for one of them had some poo stuck to their lower feathers. The vent looked fine tho. They've been laying since Dec 13, so they...

Dealing with Loss of 1st Chicken

I'm so sorry. I lost my first last month too. My sweet little Burrito. I cried and buried her by the lilac bush. I felt silly, being so sad over a chicken, but they are such little love bugs and really worm their way into your heart. You do what you need to do to grieve your little one. We all...

    Wet Coop

Ok I'll try that. If the top of the shavings were always wet I'd assume its coming in from the vents but its always underneath thats wet. But it makes sense that its running down the sides and seeping in the bottom.

    Wet Coop

There's a small gap in the front to allow a bit of a cross breeze, yes. But its currently all covered because I'm waiting on the roof panels. The top of the shavings is always dry, its always underneath that its wet.

    Wet Coop

I don't think so. The deck is behind it so it kinda buffers the wind a bit.

    Wet Coop

I did during the snowstorm, but I cleaned it out and then it got wet again even after I moved the water out.

    Wet Coop

I built a coop this summer, it is a basic box frame with plywood screwed to the sides for walls. The back is 6 inches higher than the front and is open for ventilation. It has plywood on the roof at present, and a heavy duty tarp covering it until I can get the roof panels for it. It was pretty...

    Lost a chicken, but how?

Thank you so much for the pics! Its so helpful to see what is successful for others so I know what to do. I'm a brand new chicken farmer so I have no clue how to protect my babies. Thank you so much for your help!

    Lost a chicken, but how?

Yeah I need to get one. My neighbor caught coyotes on his cam one night, I've seen foxes and racoon around, and we have bears too. I'm just kinda thrown because I would have expected all of these to be bloody and to leave a mess. I wanna put up an electric wire on my fence but I feel like I need...

    Lost a chicken, but how?

I didn't look too closely. Its my first loss and it was really hard.... all I noticed was when I picked her up it looked like her head almost fell off, but it may have just been broken. I was horrified and just scooped the towel around her tight and carried her back to the house. I'm assuming if...

    Lost a chicken, but how?

Ewwww well maybe yeah. I looked at her foot for the band to see which one, but I didn't look any further... its possible if the spot where it fed was small.
