    Sick Emu

How much cipro to a6 month old emu? I'm beginning too think my boy is sick. He acts depressed. He cut his toe a few days ago, but wouldn't let us clean it. There's no fever, but he prefers to lay down.

    Mandarin duckling confusion

Can anyone out there help? My mandarins, both normal, just hatched their thit'd clutch. Unlike previous babies, half of these are yellow! This pair are the only mandies I have. They did have a pair of mallard call ducks as roomies, which have been moved out because the mandie eggs were due to...

    Abusive gander?

Ah, thank you! Should I let him back in with the ducks? Should I give her a duck flock for company while separate from him? Or should he just go live with the Tom turkey for the duration?

    Abusive gander?

Hi! I'm a complete newbie to geese. Yet, about a month ago I was given a 7 month old Chinese gander, because he was trying to mate with resident ducks. He grew up with a brother, who went elsewhere. He stayed with my call duck flock, until I could find a female Chinese for him. He was fine to my...

Young duck and young guinea can't walk!

Thank you! This seems to be helping the duck. The guinea hen didn't make it. Should I repeat treatment for the duck? She did take a few steps. I'm force feeding, she won't self feed yet.

Young duck and young guinea can't walk!

No other symptoms. All others (silkies, ducks, chickens, pheasant) are fine. Just all off a sudden these girls can't walk. The duck can swim. Both can move their legs. All eat game bird pellets. Both laid an egg today. Eyes clear. Poop hard to say, they free range, but haven't seen any abnormal...

My phone switched some words! I just hatched some eggs, never saw the parents but was told they're americauna (sp?). I have a lavender AM roo and was hoping to raise a hen for him. I'm confused about one chick... It goes off from the rest and says, "Chico-chico-chico-cheep! I've only heard...

    Ever had a winter broody?

Any poultry supply should have chick feeders. They have little holes for their heads. But nobody can get in and mess up the feed. Silkie chicks are usually pretty small. Ant least mine are. For the footers week I add a little water to soften the day's food.,or run the feed in my coffee grinder...

    Ever had a winter broody?

I've had my silkies raise their babies through winter with no problems, with other chickens. Especially if their nesting close together. They're fantastic mothers, and if all the eggs are viable, you won't have to do anything besides provide chick feeders and feed, and water they can safely get...

    *~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Hi! I don't know if this is helpful or not... I have let my runners outside in their area at about 7 weeks old, of course they became flighty. But, I also have rouen ducklings (very affectionate) which I turned out two weeks later, at about 4 weeks old (it's hot here now). Well, now the runners...

I've seen them called grey runners and mallard runners. But, they aren't crossed.

    *~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Hello all! I'd LOVE to join your group, as I've just acquired my first ever ducklings that turn out to be runners. They were "free to good home" and my husband has been trying to get me to agree to ducks for a year now... I just couldn't turn them away. So I took two. They're four to five weeks...
