New chicks - what now?

No way I can keep these chicks in the coop. The little cock appears to be an accomplished escape artist I have a really big cooler I could rig up for the chicks to stay in for a while. Or I could just let them stay with mom. Suggestions welcome.- LC

Update: remaining rooster and hens doing fine. Still no idea why the hen died. I have noticed that I'm not getting any mottled/multicolor eggs any more ... the hen that died was laying something other than a large deep brown egg. Nothing wrong with them, just a little smaller and mottled. Maybe...- LC

I found one of my Sexlink hens dead yesterday morning. I'd like to try to figure out why she died. I'm new to yardbirds ... can anyone help? She was a one-year old that I raised - looked healthy. Plants for chicken run?
I planted some daylillies outside of my coop. The leaves grow through the chickenwire and give my chickens something to nibble on. They love them.- LC

Mice in chicken coop
Here's a rat that I had in the trap when I came home from work today. It's the second adult I've caught ... hope I got the breeding pair. This big one got caught in a Victor Rat Trap w/peanut butter set outside the coop.- LC

There is a milo field next to my property and some rats have left the milo and dug in right outside my chicken coop. I saw the droppings in the feeder.
