This tetra tint is about 8 weeks old and she is way smaller than the others and her feathers have taken an eternity to come in.. we were wondering if maybe she was a he and not a she? Any input would be great thanks!
Thanks that helps a lot! We just fed them some mealworms and they LOVED them! I still have two EE though who absolutely loathe me.. hopefully they come around :)
Thank you! :) I think that I will do that same thing since I have plenty of room in my coop, I can't wait for them to start laying eggs! Thanks for the advice it is much appreciated!
Thank you all for being so welcoming! Do you think that they will all get along well when we do introduce them? And also what happens when the older girls are being fed layer and the young ones are not ready for it yet? Thanks!!
I was thinking the same thing, I will probably wait a few more weeks before introducing them! My older ladies are friendly so I think they will get along :)
I got 4 tetra tints and 4 production reds a little while ago who are now about 6 weeks old and yesterday I got 2 EE, 2 Silver laced wyandotes, and 2 buff orpingtons! They are all about 2 weeks old! Any tips on introducing them to the older chickens? Thanks!! :)

I would fence the whole thing in, and depending on the number of chickens you have, build a coop that will allow for at least 2-3 sq feet per chicken inside. There will be more than enough space for them, chicken paradise! I probably would put down something over the concrete for them though such...
I have have a similar problem with one of my tetra tints that is about 6 weeks old. She is really mangy looking with bald spots. All of my other chicks have quite long tail feathers and all other feathers have come in, but she has barely any tail feathers and bald red patches all over. I don't...
I kept the heat lamp on my 8 tetras and production reds until they were about 4 weeks old but I moved it up a little bit each week to build up cold tolerance. We reduced the temperature about 5 degrees every week we had them, starting at about 90 degrees. We just moved them out to the coop...
My boyfriend and I are beginner chicken owners and we just moved our 8 chicks from the brooder to the coop a few days ago. They are about 6 weeks old and are almost fully feathered. It has been in the 40 degree range lately and today we noticed that a few of them are sneezing. I don't know if...
