I have been birdless for over a year and a half now but maybe some rescue chickens one day? Some places let you take them away for £1 each after they're no longer economically viable...
I miss Norbert and Beep beep though, my little honking horrors.
My little beep used to know "Are you ready?" where i'd put my hands underneath him to lift him up and he would drop his keel into my hands ready to be lifted.
"Garden!" when i got home from work, they'd run to the back door, honking with excitement.
"Cucumber!" obviously their favourite treat...
Hi guys,
a few of your here will know our story, so for those of you that did, I just wanted to let the community know that this morning, little Beep went to sleep; I don't know what happened, if he had a virus or bumped his head but he had experienced several Grand Mal seizures, and as you...
As a person VERY familiar with neighbours getting stroppy about goose noise, I have looked into many different options, as we all know, geese have varied personalities and so your milage may vary, however, a crow collar isn't going to work as a goose has a different anatomy to the birds they're...
Amprolium, that's the only licenced coccidiostat for use in poultry, here in the UK at least, i don't know if there are others available.
On a side note, my two boys are almost 100% fed on pellets and up until recently I have had no issues (one of my boys has lost a lot of weight and I can't...
Yeah i have been worried about hardware disease but i would have expected a lot more blood in poop if that were the case, hes still under weight but he seems happy and isnt acting strangely, it is indeed a puzzlement
Oh I don't know! Maybe he has gotten past the worst of it and he is, albeit, very slowly on the mend? Gosh, i so hope so, but its so stressful when there isn't. Much information available to us like there would be for a dog or a cat owner; its very much a case of "rely on the community and hope...
Yes, there's a few poking out, but i just dont remember him looking this messy the last time her molted, or it taking as long.
Sorry, forgot to take a picture, will try remember this weekend.
Not the same goose, no, but Norbert doesnt seem to be losing anymore weight; currently at work but i will yake a picture of him later...he seems to have lost all of his waterproof feathers from his neck down. He still has flight feathers on his wings, of course, but he is still looking pretty...
No,this is my other boy who is a healthy weight, his foot isnt completely healed but its looking much much better now...i guess feet in poultry takes a long time to heal due to the limited blood vessels there???
Thanks for being concerned though, all the advice is really helpful.
SO I have just gotten the results from the lab about my boys poop:
Worm egg count: 25 E.P.G Heterakis
From what i've read, 25 is a very low count? should i be worried and is flubenvet effective against them?
