thanks so much for the recap! this is exactly what i was hoping everyone will do so i can learn and compare. i am pretty sure my hatch is done also but i won't post my stats until i take those last eggs out of the bator and eggtopsy, prolly tomorrow. can't wait to see the pics! anyone...
i am having a very educational hatch. lost two so far - one to umbilical hernia, one pipped and partly zipped then died in the shell. not shrink wrapped so idk what happened. little guy was fully formed though. now i am helping two others hatch because i didn't want any more to die waiting. they...
i have had 5/17 hatch so far. lost one to a large umbilical hernia so only 4 survivors. i am nervous about one other egg right now. it has a pencil eraser sized piece of shell gone but the membrane is still intact. there is zipping around 1/4 of the shell but the cracks seem a little bloody...
i have three chicks! another one that pipped ten hrs ago is having a hard time. but based on all yall's problems, i am leaving it alone for now. i don't think i will sleep at all tonite.
ps- sorry to all who have had a hard time so far. i still don't know if my hatch rate will be good or bad...
this is all so EGGciting. heehee. day 20 is here for me. no big movements in my eggs but i can hear a tiny peeping sometimes. i have work to keep me busy today but tomorrow i am off and i think i will drive myself crazy hovering over the bator.
k...lockdown complete. holding steady at 99.5 degrees/64% humidity. 17 left from the original 22 eggs and i saw 16 of them move when i candled yesterday. one of the marans eggs may be a quitter but i put it in the hatcher just in case.
I WANT FUZZ BUTTS!!!
