Lol,that would be my luck
I have no doubts about Solo, but Chewie stumps me. Of all of them Chewie makes almost NO noise. Very chill. I'm watching for streamer feathers but haven't seen any yet. Skywalker acts the most like a cockeral. Very inquisitive and energetic. Time will tell!
These are my silkie babies that I have wanted forever. Over the moon with them! Hubby got them as a Mothers Day gift the week before on Star Wars Day-hence the names.(yes,I'm a big nerd;) All are a little over six weeks. One I think is definitely a roo ( Solo). Would love to hear what you think!
Thank you for responding. We are new at this and I wasn't sure the same breed would look so different, that's why I posted here. This site is great for newbies looking for answers :)
My little Darth Maul (yes, she came to live with me on 'Star Wars Day') was supposedly a gold laced Wyandotte. She did have some red coloring when I got her,but now....nada. And her markings are very different from her silver laced Wyandotte sibling.(Her sib was also supposed to be a RLW,but I...
I have six chicks,4 silkies and 2 Wyandotte that are a little over 3 weeks old and are currently in my house. I've been using a heat lamp to keep them warm especially in the evenings. It's set to heat one side,so they can get away from it of they want to. However inside temp in my house is...
Anyone have tips to share on integrating new chicks into an existing flock? We have a flock of 'teenagers'- 2 naked necks (one is a roo), 5 Australorp (all are 8 months old) and a 2 year old RIR hen,who is the boss.
We have new chicks-another 8-who are about 9 weeks old (5 brahmas,2 silver laced...
Not sure -maybe about 8 weeks. They were a gift to my hubby and he was uncertain of how old they were. They were a mix of fluff and early feathers when we got them a month ago.
So,we have a mixed group of brahmas, an Easter egger, and 2 silver laced wyandotte. I'm 100% sure there is only one cockerel in the brahma lot and I'm pretty sure the EE is a pullet as well.
But the SL Wyandottes have me stumped. Anyone want to guess?
My Fifi has never shown any interest in using a nesting box before. She'll just lay eggs wherever she feels like it. Today, for the first time, she used a box. She's laid an egg and is refusing to leave the box. Could she be broody? She's 7 months.
