Hen with swollen cheek on one side

Ok so Miss Bunny is still doing well. Eating and drinking great. I managed to sneak a peek inside her mouth just now and it is looking better! This picture sucks but best I could do by myself lol. She is NOT a lap chicken. ;) Nice pink tissues coming back in the area and just a little yellow...

Hen with swollen cheek on one side

Ok just checked on her and smelled her mouth. It’s quite smelly. She also now has yellow gray mucus in her mouth. She is quite thirsty, drinking up the water I’ve got in with her. I added poultry cell and hydro hen so not sure if she just thinks it’s tasty. I’m leaning towards canker now? Idk...

Is this canker perhaps? or maybe wet fowl pox?

Hen with swollen cheek on one side

I never would’ve thought to look in her mouths. It looks awful. :( The flock is Mareks positive. I hope it’s not that.

Hen with swollen cheek on one side

This is my Easter Egger, Bunny. She has had this lump on her face for 2-3 days now. We think it got bigger since yesterday. I just put some bacitracin on it, as I think I see a tiny puncture. It’s not bleeding. Could be a bee sting or maybe she got pecked and it’s infected. Not sure. What do...

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

Here's the report. I have not added any unvaxxed chickens. I got all 7 at the same time. I do have next door neighbors with chickens but we are both on 5 acre lots and their chickens stay on their property. Mine are in a closed coop and run.

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

The necropsy came back positive for Marek's. There was also mention of positive testing for some parasites in her feces. I've got to read up on what to do now for the remaining 5 birds.

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

She passed today. :( I have an email in to get a necropsy done. She's in the garage fridge waiting for testing.

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

I do not feel any bound eggs in her abdomen. I gloved up and lubed a finger and didn't feel anything hard in her vent either. She's a mess right now. I wet her legs and wet the ground under her. I fed her crushed tums anyway. I sprinkled some crushed shell in front of her and she is pecking at it.

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

She has been laying eggs, yes. But I am not sure when she laid her last one. Her eggs look similar to some of the other hens. I think it's been a bit. I assumed since she was ill maybe her egg production was on pause. I will go out and try to check now for egg bound issues. I don't have calcium...

Vent gleet and now unable to walk

Hi everyone, My 7 month old lavender Orpington, Sophia, is struggling. She had what I believe to be vent gleet. We did the epsom soak, and have been applying monistat to her vent. I tried (its not easy) to get her to take some orally as well. I have fed her yogurt a few times as well. She...

    Paralyzed wing

Curious what happened with this hen?

RIR with one wing drooping, yellow poo with possible blood in it? (pics)

I'm hopeful. I'm worried it might be Marek's. There are my first chickens and they do not free range. There have never been chickens on the property. And they are vaxxed for Marek's. But I did get them at 8 weeks old from a hatchery. They could've gotten it while they were there. IDK. The limp...

I took the wrap off and the wing was still hanging. I took her to the vet. They did an x ray (yes I'm nuts). She said it's not broken OR dislocated. The vet wrapped it again. Now this morning the chicken is limping. :/ I guess I just wait and see. Supposed to take her back to the vet in a week.
