    2x4 for roosts?

I use limbs from trimming trees for roosts. I have two 1-1/2"round and slightly crooked limbs for them to roost on. I bored holes in 2x4s for the end mounts,as a lot of weight is on the roosts[7 Chickens] on them. The Chickens seem more comfortable on the natural wood than the 2x2s that I had...

    Soggy Floor

When I built my coop,I set down landscape timbers and built it on top of them. I built up dirt so that water runs off,so no soggy floor. One thing you could do is to put pea gravel on the ground about 2-4" deep, with straw on top. I use 1 bale in a 16'x8' coop.

I'll have to build it like Fort Knox,as the coop backs up to a large wooded area. I once had about 200...

I've had my Hovabator for about 30 years, and hatched many an egg, from quail eggs to goose eggs without a problem. I hadn't used it in about 20 years, when I dug it out, fixed the mouse holes with scrap foam sheathing and Gorilla Glue. It works perfectly, even the turner. I put 14 eggs in it this...

Well of course I said yes and built a predator proof coop about 8'x8',and about 10'high. The pullets look like Brown Sex-links,so I got a...
