Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi. I'm currently researching chicken laws in various MI cities because there is a bill proposed in the MI legislature that would prevent Michigan municipalities from banning backyard chickens. The proposed law says it's to allow people in "urban" areas to keep chickens for their own use...

Why do her wings look like this?

Oh. Duh. I just realized this must have been from the rooster I had. She was his favorite and she was still growing when I gave him away. That was months ago but she hasn't had her first molt yet.

Why do her wings look like this?

I was surprised it's 21%! But I think they fill up more on grass and weeds in the yard. They've always been that way. Maybe they are fighting more than I realize. I'll have to keep my eyes on them more during the day. Not sure it will do much good though. I can't do much about them fighting when...

Why do her wings look like this?

No I have never seen the others trying to mount her. They rarely get treats but they do eat a lot of grass and milkweeds.

Why do her wings look like this?

Does anyone have any idea why this hen's wings look like this? They've been like this for months. She is not molting. She seems happy and healthy otherwise. I have 5 hens and she's the only one with wings looking like this. They have a house and run that's more than big enough and they walk...

    Getting chickens to eat pellets....

My chickens are doing the same. They are starving themselves rather than eating the pellets. I usually give them scratch more as something to do than food, but they will come at it like they are starving because they are. I think it's affecting their egg laying too. They only lay every other...

    Easter egger egg color

When the EEs lay is it the same color per bird or does 1 bird lay a variety of colors? My EEs just started laying and they all are laying green eggs that have a bluish tint. That's it. I wanted more colorful but I only have 3 of the hens.

Why does this chick look like this?

He's 6 months old now! Even tho he began crowing early, he's a very quiet roo. Crows a bit in the morning or if something upsets him. Usually very quiet all day. Has a nice personality too. I love him.

Why does this chick look like this?

I guess I wouldn't have expected its wings to be so small no matter its mix

Why does this chick look like this?

Hello everyone. Can any of you good people tell me why this chick looks so different from the others. They are all "easter egger" chicks less than 1 week old. They all have big wings and some tail feathers coming in. Except the one in the middle. It has stubby little wings and no tail feathers...

My chicken is fluffed and has a fever

Greetings, could anyone advise what might be wrong with my chicken. She's a 2 months old Dominique breed and she has been fluffed up like this for about 5 days. I started corid 3 days ago with 9.8ml per 1 gallon and I did see her drinking it. She seemed to be getting better and I missed a day...

    Loud Chicken, annoying neighbors

So how did it work out? I think I'm going to try to soundproof my coop a bit.
