Hi everyone,
I have a 1-month old buff Orpington which I really wish it is a she.
I don’t see any development in comb yet, her same hatch brother has already got a big red comb.
I have heard Orpington mature slower and there is a chance she might suddenly grow out a comb in the next few weeks...
Hi,
I have a Light Sussex which has went broody. This is her first time and she is around 1 year old.
I have read broody hen only comes out for food 1-2 times a day. But she comes out 5-6 times a day. She puffs up when she is outside and does go back to sit again but I don’t think those...
Thanks for the information :)
I have updated my profile, I live in UK, London.
Their main layer pellets is Allen & Page Free Range Layers Pellets, protein 16%, calcium 3.8% (but I always provide crushed eggshell as well)
I can‘t heat the coop but I can bring her inside. Her flock mates are all fully feathered so should be fine with winter.
Her feather is not growing back, that’s what I am worried. As she is not broody, and molting usually starts from head to bottom. Plus she still lays everyday. I am scared her...
No-one dare bully her, she is the boss. I only see her bullying others. Can she coop with the cold with bald? Right now it is around 10-15 degrees during daytime, but will go down to 0-5 degrees at night.
