I have a polish rooster and he is about 6 months. He came as a freebie in a shipment of 15 S L Wynd. The other birds keep pulling feathers out of his head and cause it to bleed. It heals but I don't feel it's a good idea to put him with the other birds. I would like to get him a Polish Hen...

    Bantum Hen Not Hatching

Thank you for your reply. The first time our hen went broody we let her hatch and raise her babies because everything went fine and she gave us a hen and a rooster. This time we were expecting the same thing, but it didn't work out that way and so we tried to hatch the eggs ourselves. We do...

    Bantum Hen Not Hatching

Hello, Well, a new mystery this morning with the same bantum hen that lost one of her chicks. We moved her and her eggs yesterday after having another hen in the coop do something to the new born chick. Now she has 4 eggs left. Last night and this morning she was not laying on her eggs. We...

Broody Hens & Newly Hatched Chicks

Do you suggest putting them in at night as I have read in some publications? Also, the babies are so small and my flock is large and very active. I'm afraid they might get knocked around too much. What do you think? Should I put the hen in without her babies? Thank you for your advice...
