Cyn, I hoped that was what you were going to say! I thought it, but didn't want to get my hopes up. The chick is beautiful. All of them are, they are such a mixed lot of colors, o can't wait to see how they mature. But I prayed really hard for a Delaware!
@speckledhen first of all, I'm so sorry for all your bad luck lately. When it rains, it pours. I've included some pics of one of Ty and Cheyenne's chicks that I would love your input on. The chicks will be one month old on Thurs and are growing like weeds. This one in particular is almost snowy...
Cheyenne is doing a great job, she is a wonderful mom. One of the chicks has got me stumped, it is jet black with the exception of a small light patch in the vent area and it has black legs. All the rest are yellow legged. I hope and pray it will look like Georgia!
Out of my two D'anvers, my porcelain is the pure devil. I never leave the coop unless I'm bloody. He is vicious. If I reach to refill the feeder he attacks, if I reach for the waterer, same deal. Everything is his and he makes sure I know it.
Well Cynthia, Ty is definitely the stud he claims to be! 8 chicks so far and 4 more eggs pipped and hatching. Will get some better pics later on today.
Cynthia, Cheyenne is still happily sitting on her eggs. Hatch day should be Friday. I'm so nervous you'd think I was about to deliver. So far all the eggs I've candled have had little chicksters! Wish me luck.
