I found someone selling a few bantams her age and I will be picking them up this week! After quarantine, I will begin the integration process. Hopefully everything will work out, but if there is still a problem, I will get them their own coop. Thanks for all the advice everyone!
She isn't new. She used to have a couple buddies, but not since they have grown to be twice her size. Most of the chickens just ignore her, but I have 4, including my rooster, that chase her and peck at her. Luckily no drawing of blood or a lot of missing feathers! She spends most of the day...
Thanks everyone! I will be looking forward to those little eggs! Any thoughts on her sleeping alone and getting picked on by the other chickens? I'm not worried right now as the temps have been above 30. Although, it usually drops into the teens in January and February and occasionally single...

I tried posting this on a frizzle thread with no responses, so I'm going to give this thread a try.
I asked for guesses on the gender of my Cochin frizzle when it was 8 weeks old. Now 10 weeks later I'm still unsure. I thought for sure this cutie was a rooster. It's comb was bigger then my...

Yes, she/he is 5 weeks old. This one and my white rock have developed more slowly than my other chicks. We noticed within the first week, but they both eat, drink and run around normally. You are right about the toes. My roos toes aren't joined. Well, I definitely won't be breeding this one, but...
I thought for sure that my 5 week old LF Salmon Faverolle was a girl, but now I'm starting to question it. I already have a Salmon Faverolle cockerel, and my girl is starting to feather in like him only not as dark. Is it possible she's just of poor hatchery quality or do you suspect roo also? I...
I have a huge opened 50lb. bag of medicated chick starter from IFA that I only used a few cups of for a sick baby chick. I don't normally use anything medicated, and will not use the rest of it. I would hate to see it go to waste. Does anybody want it? Free if you come pick it up. I'm located in...
