Aww so sorry to hear that. I would keep antibiotic ointment on her tear. One that doesn't have a pain reliever in it. Betadine is also very good to use.
Does she eat and drink well?
I would also like to suggest throwing everything the chicks had contact with away. Cocci is very contagious. Don't allow any healthy chicks near the sick ones.
Aww, so sorry to hear about your loss. We lost 2 of our hens yesterday one from a respiratory infection and another from a possible allergic reaction to a penicillin shot my husband gave it. It's heartbreaking.
That's a pretty neat idea. I think I may try that with ours. You could just place the pool in during the day and watch them closely. I wouldn't think the chickens would be interesed in going near it unless they need a drink so keep plenty of water located away from it.
I'm pretty new to raising chickens and ducks but we have 3 adult ducks (1male and 2 female) and 6 hens and 1 rooster in a run together. Our ducks won't go into the coop so we just leave them in the run. They get along just fine.
