Thank you so much! Just out of curiosity, if #1&2 look a little roosterish, I see some of the same in #3 (wide comb) am I way off? I can see what you mean about all the others and I am happy that most look like hens!
I have 7 silkies here, each is pictured with a close up (as close as I can get it without being blurry!) And a little further away, I don't have pics of them standing. They are too fast! They have little tags (all but one) to help identify them. Let me know what you think!
Hi guys, I am bummed our pretty Silver Laced Wyandotte is not working out. He is a super protector for my hens, but he is so good at it, that he won't let me near him or the girls. We have tried the suggested tactics to help, but those have not worked. Maybe if he were the only rooster he would...
My little SLW that a week ago I thought would never make it, is now thriving! She is still a bit small and it took a day of wearing a splint after she finally got the strength back in her leg, but she is doing great. I am guessing this was a case of vitamin deficiency, but it could have been so...
My chicks are 10 days old! We managed to keep all alive after shipping! So far, so good! I don't want to roast them this weekend when temps are getting into 3 digits here in Nashville. The MHP seems to create enough ambient heat that the brooder gets a bit warm and with the heat already high I...
chickisoup, I am so sorry that you have lost a chick after what you have already gone through!
Our packer also couldn't count :( we were missing a Salmon Faverolle and won't know for a while if that is the male I was hoping for or not. They all look like little yellow fluffs :) Anyway, I...
Thank you for all the help! I am now starting to see a more dramatic improvement in her since this morning. She is overstressed during time away from the others. So I have decided she is much better off being together than separated.
I ruled out splayed leg only because I have had one other...
I have a one week old, Silver Laced Wyandotte chick who is smaller and thinner than the other chicks the same age, maybe close to half the size of the others. We noticed on Sunday morning that it was laying down and not getting back up on it's own. It was eating and getting to the water just...
I was supposed to get 16. Anyone had trouble with them shipping new chicks after not receiving all of them due to their mistake? Also, I don't know if they will replace the spraddle legger. I they do, then I'll have to order one additional chick to meet the shipping requirements.
Other than the little splay leg/shipping stress(?) Salmon Fav. I am missing a chick. I was supposed to get 2 rare marans collection and I believe I only got one, either a blue splash marans or a white variety. Still not sure. So I have emailed them and they want to see pictures to help me...
Chicks arrived this morning!! All alive, almost all healthy. I think one my have splay leg. Can anyone tell by the picture if that's what is going on here?
They are a loud bunch!
I did get a tracking number, but the USPS has not updated it. I called my PO this morning and the chicks were not in yet, she said it would probably be tomorrow. So one more day to worry about the little guys in transit
