    FYI : food coloring does not take to feathers. I gave Peewee the poults and chicks at dusk, followed by a handfull of earthworms I dug up for her (her favorite treat) She knows they aren't her babies, but she seems more like she will tolerate them now, she is pecking them but not all the time...

    Hi, I have a broody silkie named peewee, she is a first time mother to a dozen 1 week old chicks, all black in color. 10 of the chicks hatched in the incubator but she was more than happy to take them in and is doing great as a mommy.     My eggs are due tommorow, but they are chirping today. How long after chirping till first pip? Do any of you think they will hatch early? I really hope at least 2 of them make it, none of the other ones are good. 3 early quitters, 4 died around day 7-10.

    I locked down my BCM eggs today, only 3 out of the 8 are good probably, but the shells are so dark I am leaving all of them in there just in case. My 2 mystery eggs were no good But I can hopefully look forward to new chickies friday or saturday!
