    Hi Shadrach, the vet is Wendy Lane Vets. They have a website, if you want to add that to your database. We live on the edge of the countryside, so I suppose the vets have to expect people to turn up with hens! But maybe that's not always the case, I've never been to another vet's.

    I will give her a proper bath today! Is it a good idea to put some tea tree oil in? Lavender oil?? Also, I don't have baby shampoo, but I can get some - or is any mild shampoo fine? I had wondered about lubricant - would rubbing Vaseline in help? Thanks so much for all your suggestions.

    Poor you. It's really hard when we feel we've made a wrong decision, I'm full of sympathy for you. We all learn from experience, it's just really hard sometimes not being able to turn the clock back. All the best for the future.
