Al, I am curious about your largest treadle chicken/dog feeder. How big of a dog is it made for? I have 120 lb dogs with big heads.

I usually make a shoe. I cut an inch off a jumbo pool noodle and vetwrap it with 1" wrap onto their foot. I have tried PRID, surgery, and soaks, but the pool noodle is the only thing that works. You do not need to soak or do surgery!

I would try something like the Peck-o-matic -- it would keep them busy and they would have to work for their food.

I ended up cutting doorways into the tunnels, so they can go in and out at will. They do have more areas to forage. If they feel threatened, they can run in for shelter. I do have other things that have worked against hawks.
