    Chicken very sick

Hi - I posted recently about a chicken who has been bullied and we isolated her a little over a week ago. She started laying down more often and tonight when I went to bring her outside she just laid there. I thought she had died but appears to be barely alive. As of yesterday she was eating...

What to do with bullied hen.

Hello Everyone We are in need of some advice. We have (had) 5 Issa Brown chickens for a little over 2 years. In the midst of an East Coast heat wave we noticed an escalation of bullying behaviors towards our chicken Violet -- appears to always have been lowest in the order:( It resulted in...

Possible re-homing of 3 Issa Browns - live in Shelton, CT

Hi -- we have a bad bullying issue with a weak hen. I'm afraid the 3 we have left (one taken by fox this morning) are going to seriously hurt her. Considering re-homing the 3 of them and keeping the victim of the attacks until she crosses over naturally. They are a little over 2 years old...

    Chickens very skittish

Hi We have 5 Isa Browns -- 2 we had as very young chicks and we held them every day so they would get used to being held. Approx. 5-6 weeks later we got 3 more that were the same age. They all went outside together in a large enclosure. I have read that ISA Browns are cuddly and lovable and...

    Small oak tree

Thank you. They are not going crazy for it but may have ingested some. We also put an apple tree branch in there but they don't seem too interested.

    Small oak tree

Hi, we just cut down a very small oak tree and put it in the chicken run so chickens could climb on it. Some are pecking at and possibly eating the leaves. Is this toxic to them? I've heard differing opinions. I'm going out to take it out just in case but would appreciate some feedback...

Hi -- I have a young RIR with a cough and possibly bubbly eye on and off that needs quarantine, antibiotic back to health. Does anyone know anyone in the Connecticut area? Thanks in advance.

Where to buy Tylan antibiotic for cough and bubbly eye.

Thank you all so much for the replies. So you’re saying I can use the Tylan 50 even though it says for cattle and swine on the bottle?

    Is chronic cough always contagious?

If she has been exposed to other chickens how long before they could get sick?

    Is chronic cough always contagious?

Approx. 6 month old RIR with chronic cough since we got her about 3-4 weeks ago. Will it get worse if untreated or do you suggest antibiotics as a precaution? Maybe a little watery eye but it now looks fine. No other symptoms, eating, drinking and laying eggs. Do you think she's contagious...
