20 week old hens making alot of noise no eggs?

I told my neighbor that they were making a lot of noise and that it might mean that they are getting close to laying so she's over 10 times a day checking the run coop and boxes. I think they might have started laying and she's keeping them.

20 week old hens making alot of noise no eggs?

My girls look to be of different ages, I've had them for 20 weeks and some look more mature then others. Also over the last week they have been making a lot of noise especially the ones that look older. They have not laid yet and I think it could be the shorter days or change in temp. the...

Is there only one? I'd remove the dead one and the hen and other chicks if there are any will eat the maggots.

Exactly. You could trim the door up depending on which way it opens.

I used over 10k 5/8th in staples using a air gun, I was putting staples on top of staples. I weigh over 2 bills and have a hard time pulling them out with pliers.

If you used staples with a air gun and used a lot of staples you should be fine, if you used a hand stapler you might run into some problems. JMO.

I've looked in several scratch threads and none mention how often you give to them, my question is you guessed it......how often do you give scratch.....everyday, every other day, once a week?

@ Bruce The sand in the run was the leftover I had from filling the coop. I like the idea of getting rid of the ramp and adding the porch. I over lapped the 1x2 with the 1/2in so little paws couldn't get in and make a grab, that 1x2 is good and strong it would take a lot to get through it. I...

I used construction sand I got at lowes. I did paint the floor with several coats of outdoor semi gloss acrylic paint before I put the sand down.

The wire goes down a foot all the way around. I had a perch that went across the open area but at night they were using that instead of going inside to perch for the night, maybe in a few weeks I'll put it back. Thanks for the advice.
