I seem to have suddenly developed an allergy to eggs
Severe intestinal issues & pain when I use them in cooking even worse if I eat them straight and I had a bite of a meringue cookie a couple of days ago and my tongue started itching. We have yard chickens we feed them a non gmo non soy feed...
I have similar question I guess
I was very surprised to find a blue/green egg in the nest box last Monday b/c I wasn't expecting this hen to lay yet but oh we'll! Then nothing for a week! I know they are irregular at first but this much surprised me...is that normal? Then my husband was out...
I too am new to ducks but I've been told they can eat chicken feed we feed out chickens non-soy non-gmo feed from texas naturals. I read somewhere that they needed supplemental niacin? But we are going to let ours free range with our chickens so I'm hoping they'll find that on their own. We have...
From the research I've read on such things it depends greatly on what the chick died of. But there are some things that the recovered chick could now be a carrier of
havent even read a single reply...nut this is crap! You can get non gmo feed and I pay $22.50 for 50# not a "premium" price by far..if you buy organic it will automatically be non gmo... the best bet would be any grain approved by the non gmo project...
We have 5 chicks hatched 3/19 1 serama 2 buffs and 2 americaunas. We went through a bit of pasty butt the first week or so with the serama and 1 buff. Then last night I noticed one of our americauna's was acting very strange...."Sweetie" was previously a very calm chick that would allow us to...
I live in Texas but while on a trip is flordia is high school my friends and I found ourselves on a bus with a bunch of guys from new jersey....When they heard us talking the asked where we were from. I said "Texas" They tehn asked me how many horses I had??? I told them none. They asked me how...
At what age ddo I need to provide my ladies a dust bath? They were hatched 2-15-13 and moved outside to their coop/run combo last night (I'm in south Texas). I plan on moving their tractor weekly so they don't deplete the grass and ground so their dust bath will be Kitty litter box style
yes they have a roost in their coop...they didnt in their brooder so I dont think they really knew how to use it. My husband tried setting them on the roost too b/c its closer to the light than the ground but one "blondie" kept trying to get under another one "goldie" so they got flustered and...
I'm new to chickens...we have 4 barnyard mix and 2 seramas..hatched 2/15. Its been in the 55-70 range here in south east texas so we moved them outside to their coop last night. We put them in through the "back door" straight into the nest boxes. They had been in the coop on the ground before...
thanks fred...I'm glad to have some outsider input....so I'll most likely be moving the "big sisters" out to the coop when the new girls arrive....since I'm in south texas I shouldnt have too many weather concerns that would require continuing with a heat lamp for the big girls ar 4-5 weeks old.
We just got our first ever chicks yesterday
2 barred rocks and 2 barnyard mix that we think are Wyandotte X either EE/maran and the other is a EEXMaran apparently the wrong roo got out at the wrong time....we are going back in a couple of weeks to get 2 americauna and 2 buff orphingtons and we...
