I have a 2.5-year-old easter egger who only ever laid eggs for a brief period of about 3-4 months last spring. She stopped before it got hot in the summer and has not restarted. Her sisters laid consistently until November last year and started laying again about two weeks ago. She's never acted...
Thanks, I'll put her back and keep with the corid and safeguard. I hope she'll be ok but I've been afraid of it being reproductive for a while. For the 1.5 years she laid before she stopped she always laid huge 2-3 yolkers. I knew that would reduce her longevity.
Her belly is bulgy below her vent, I think. I'm not really sure what normal is supposed to look like. She's missing feathers because I had to cut a bunch off that were covered in diarrhea.
I know it's not a very good picture but it's the best I could get. It's hard to tell without touching...
My chicken is sick. She's very thin and not very sure on her feet. She has diarrhea that is basically just water. She was previously sick in May with sour crop that turned into fly strike https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/continued-poopy-butt-after-illness.1662214/. She's been better...
This same chicken has poopy butt feathers again. They've only just now grown back. She hasn't laid since the earlier incidents. She seems fine otherwise, but I'm afraid of the flystrike again.
Last monistat dose was today. She seems all better. I think the diarrhea is gone and she has plenty of energy. The flystrike wound looks closed up and doesn't seem to be bothering her
I thought the same thing but none of it was moving and that long thing came apart like mucus when I poked it with a stick.
Edit: I went out and checked another one. Those small rounds white bits are rocks/oyster shell.
