This beautiful goose is 2 1/2 months old. When I bought them, I thought I was buying pure Embden goose. I’m not sure as the coloring is off. Maybe it’s a mixed breed? Also I am not sure the gender. Any thoughts ?
Hello! This beautiful Goose is about 2 1/2 months old. I thought I was getting an Embden but I’m not so sure as it isn’t white. Maybe a mixed breed? I also don’t know the Gender. I’m thinking it’s a Girl but not sure.
It is likely that this is caused from their new feathers coming in. I've never had Salkie babies before but I have had other Chickie babies. I've noticed it in a couple of my chicks in the past. I assume it is just from the new feathers coming in. It's safe to assume that the newly emerging...
I had a chicken that went broody and I decided to go ahead and put fertile hatching eggs under her. They were not Chicken eggs. They where Ancona Duck eggs. She accepted the eggs as her own. A weird thing happened. Normally I've read that duck eggs take 28-30 days to hatch. Well the eggs hatched...
I hatched out a Goose on Monday and he was bloody, like dripping blood. He had a navel that didn't close properly. I acted fast and put Flour on his navel to stop any blood. I then went on to put antibacterial ointment on his navel. I kept it clean and dry. By the next day his navel was already...
As long as the hatched babies are all fluffed up and dried it will be ok. It will be a chance for you to check the other eggs for viability. Simply put the eggs up to your ear and you should hear the duckling scratching at the shell and chirping. If you don't then do the float test and candle...
Thank you. I put a bandage over the navel with ointment. That's just to keep him/ her from injuring it more. The bandage will only be temporary. When the chick is stronger I'll take the bandage off and access it. My hopes are still high for a healthy Gosling!
So I had my first Gosling hatch today. It is day 29 of incubation. The breed is a Chinese White Goose. What is this? It hatched out and there was a little blood around the area. I put flour on it to stop any bleeding and then cleaned it and put anti- bacterial ointment on it. Will this Gosling...
So I am going out of town for a couple of days and I have a goose egg incubating in my incubator. I manually turn the egg 3-5 times a day. I am on day 17 of incubation. The Gosling is moving and viable. Will it effect anything if the egg isn't turned for a couple days?
