    Lost a Chicken

10 to 12 sq ft per chicken..uh oh....that requires math...the enclosed run is 8 ft by 8 ft for 3 chickens......so I need 36 square ft. I guess my coop is 64 square ft. They are good then....just mad because they are spoiled! Thank you for your reply.

    HELP! Ordering new chicks

I am going to wait to order them until the outdoor temp is warmer...we are in Kentucky. I have enough room for a separate encloser for the chicks so they can be protected but still see the big girls and vice versa. I do have electric so I will use the special baby chicken light mentioned by one...

    Veggie Snacks

Does anyone know about drying out vegetables for my hens. I do not have a dehydrator. An example : if we have leftover peas, I would like to use them with a few other tidbits for an evening snack but with only 4 hens they get nasty in the fridge after just a couple days. I am not great in the...

    Introducing New Hen

I have decided to not add any new hens to my flock. I may consider a few chicks in the spring but my fear has been the 4 layers would kill them. I would of course separate them but for how long do they need to be separated? I have also from a different question decided to cease all snacks except...

    Introducing New Hen

WOW! Maybe I should just be happy with my four girls...I do have an 8x10 unused dog run with a roof I could put them in right next to the hens. Then they would be side by side say for at least a week? My hens used it before we bought the new coop a few months ago so it is very safe as far as...
