How about coyote/fox or other predator pee. Check the local sporting goods store. How about trying the bitter deer deterrent sprays (kinda like bitter apple dog spray but for deer). I would check garden centers for deer deterrent spray.
We made our own automatic pop door. Lawn mower battery, 2 timers, retractable car antenna, light sheet metal (door), wire, chain (possibly), wood frame/guide. About $70
Jvls1942, I would love to get that much, but I also dont want to haggle with people And prove why its worth that. All chicken folks totally see value in a solid, well kept coop.
Thanks all for confirming my ballpark.
Cluckerfamlily,
I would like to charge more, but a quick sale this fall might be nice not having to store it. But again spring chick crazyness might mean a better odds of me selling it.
Thanks Bigzio, that is what I am kinda think to.
That coop was our trial coop, built for a few $100 a few yearsago. Decided we really did like being that crazy chicken family. So it was time to up grade.
Hi all,
Can I ask a favor, pretty please. I am selling my old coop as we finished the new one and moved the flock over!
I am not sure what to price the old one for. As fellow crazy chicken folks & also living in the same state. I am wondering if you could give me a ballpark you might ask for...
Have u tried rubbing mashed up broadleaf plantain on ur battle wounds? Just chop, twist or smash the leaves to release the juice and rub on welts or put plant bits in bandaid over welt.
Boardleaf plantain is a common lawn weed. See pic attach. I pick alot of leaves before it flowers every...
To add to the bee attack list..... spoiler alert...... not attacked but close call.
Back story: we are in the process of converting an old 70's pop-up camper (starcraft brand). We started to gut it, found some white/black fuzzy material shredding bees in a bench. They had been a little angry...
I am here too. Checking in once a week! Garden & job been keeping me pretty busy.
We are also taming the wild tomato! Aka trying to kill it a little. Before it takes over the world (garden).
This week I canned dilly beans, cauliflower with heat(peppers) and without. Past week was plain jane...
Gosh, I hope not.... but it does have rather large legs. B &C just found their voice....so A might not be to far behind. That was a bad roo/pullet ratio for this batch
That was my thoughts too! They are just too pretty!
Well b found his voice ( sad version of a crow) this am. Off to a home or freezer camp. Someday we will move in to the country.
hello ya'all!
I have 4 english orpington pullets/cockerel to sex. I think I know the results, but this is the first set of hatchlings I have tried. They all had been leap day babies! So they are about 13 wks.
Breakdown of birds in pics.
A= Chocolate laced english orpington.
B & C = Partridge...
It is crazy windy here also. I have a popup greenhouse with our garden seedlings in it. I had to take it all down today and bring it all inside. I am worried it would be blown to the next county. I hope the wind calms down. Our flock was hiding inside today.
