    Droopy combs

Hi everyone. My dad just got a few chickens from a friend. Two of the cockerels have large combs but they are very droopy especially the barred rock one (he might be barred rock mix). They are 4 months old and their combs are more of a light pink but not as pink as my dads other cockerels the...

Thanks everyone. He's out of the flock now. We are sticking with our calm rooster and he's going to get extra treats now for being a good boy 😊

    Broody hatch-a-long!!! With Pippin!

Congrats on the 2 growing chicks! If they were shipped eggs it's possible the elongated egg has a detached or scrambled air cell. I had an egg that looked a bit floaty inside when candled and it didn't develop.

    Lumpy Leg

I also think it looks like the rubber band cut off circulation, especially if the bird is still growing, they grow so fast. Don't know what to do for the leg but the salt soaks sounds good. Probably best to remove all rubber bands just in case. Good luck.

    Hen or Rooster

I'm going with female. My easter eggers at 20 weeks old were easy to tell who was male because the saddle feathers, tail and posture were easy to spot, also the boys comb was a lot bigger than the girls. Plus by that age they were already crowing.
