Thank you for the pictures and link to more info from your post. I’m certain that fowl pox is what it is. I will do what I can for her. I’m pretty certain that it’s the dry pox and not the wet so hopefully she will be ok and pull through since it’s not as bad. Thank you again for your help. 😄
Thank you. If indeed this is fowl pox she definitely looks like she has a severe case. We live in the Deep South and definitely have more than our share of mosquitoes that are big enough to tote you off but I have never seen this fowl pox before. Guess I can count my blessings that this is my...
We have had turkeys and chickens for a very long time but I have never seen anything like this before. I looked online and fowl pox is the only thing that looked kinda like it but nothing looked as bad as she does so I didn’t know if it was something else.
I can try to find a vet who will take fowl, but in the past no one in my area has been willing to see them. That’s why I posted on here to see if I could find some help. I can try tomorrow and see if I can find a vet, but my past history trying hasn’t gone well.
Is this fowl pox or something else? Don’t know what this is on my female broad breasted turkey. She also seems to be panting a lot. Nothing else seems to be wrong with her and my male looks fine and all chickens in other pen look fine. Help please.
Well I guess I didn't get any buff then. Ok, at least I know what I have now and why they panic so easily. I have read that the breed does get upset easily.
I will be able to read more on this type of duck and understand more about them now that I know what they are exactly.
Ok, thanks. That is actually what I was thinking that they might be. The one that looks like your fawn and white runner is much more panicky and freeks out much more easily than the other one. I have read that is very much their temperment plus the feathers look like it to. I think that the...
I am a new member and new to this site. I am needing help identifying my two ducks.
Can someone help me to identify what type of ducks I have? This is my first time to own ducks. I bought them from my local feed & seed and all the ducklings had gotten mixed up together. They had Buff and Fawn...
The only real problem for me as a new member is that i need help identifying the breed of my ducks and I can't do that without showing a picture. That was one of the reasons for joining the site to begin with along with regular help with my ducks and chickens from time to time as needed. Now I...
