Separation is where we're starting, I need to construct a temporary living arrangement for the offender though, which is this weekend's job! We're going to expand their run soon so I might as well expand and improve their nest boxes while I'm at it, hopefully this will all stop the egg eating.

Cool, that's good to know! We're just starting the process now we've identified it's her. I talk more about it here in my introduction post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/good-day-fellow-egg-factory-enthusiasts.1239150/

20?! That's awesome! I've uploaded a pic of Barbara, caught red handed yesterday morning eating one of the other hen's eggs. I might have to take a better picture of her this evening when I get home from work. Thanks! :)

Thanks! We have three hens, a Bluebelle, a Columbian Blacktail, and one we have named Barbara but we haven't a clue what breed she is. What about you?

Our three hens currently have pretty much free run of our garden, which is great for them but it would be ideal if...

Good day fellow egg factory enthusiasts!

Thanks for the advice. We've noticed that the eggs always get eaten in the same spot (a favourite laying spot), and no matter how thick we make the straw bedding there, they stubbornly kick it away and nestle down against the hard wood floor. Is this normal? Thanks!

Good day fellow egg factory enthusiasts!

I was wondering if that was the case; no wonder they barely touch it. Thanks for the advice!

Good day fellow egg factory enthusiasts!

Thanks for all the information, it's much appreciated! We'll work our way through those solutions. The chickens all have pretty much free roam of our back garden, most of which is grass. We feed them layer's pellets, but they don't eat it very quickly--we've actually gotten into the habit of...

Good day fellow egg factory enthusiasts!

Hi Everyone My name's Lee, I live in the UK, in't North, with my partner, three children, and three chickens! We inherited the chickens from our previous neighbours when they moved about a year ago. They asked my partner if we'd be able to take them so they know they're being looked after by...
