Your netting sounds great. I think we are going to try and do fencing under our deck. We may still have to build another house but they will be able to see each other. Duck are so fun! They make me laugh everyday.
They may be playing at night but we have coyote and raccoons. Maybe a cage around the house to keep them safe but not locked in? Winter will bring a whole new set of problems. I am new to ducks this year too.
The three ducks have been together free range outside about 45 days. They get along fine but when I put them in the duck house together at night the Mallard attacks the brown duck. Brown duck is bigger then the Mallard so should I just let them work it out? We nursed the baby brown duck for so...
Yes I think she maybe a runner, too. She is getting big and all her feathers are in now. But the female Mallard still will not let her in the duck house at night. Any ideas? I don't want to build another house. Plus she is lonely at night in box by herself.
Baby duck was not injured but was very weak. She seemed to be getting stronger, walking 10 feet or so then 2 days ago she stopped using her R leg. She can stand if helped but doesn't walk.
