This chick just hatched a day late and I was not able to capture it's face but the face is a bit deformed as well. Will it survive or should I put it out of it's misery.
Thanks for checking in, I figured it would be hard to tell but for instance there are 3 black ones, they look the exact same but I think from different colored eggs so I was curious as to how they look the same. If you know what I mean I'm not experienced in genetics but since those 3 came out...
My cockrell is a speckled Sussex and the hens vary but I don't have 2 of the same breed in the coop, all are different. I had 19 eggs incubating and so far 11 have hatched and 5 more are still in the process as I'm writing this. I know some are specked Sussex but the yellow and black ones I'm no...

Was always just kind of curious what kind of rooster this is, I bought it out of an assorted group of chicks along with some others but none of them looked like him in the end. He's rather small but I thought he was kind of pretty. Thank you.
I have a 22 egg incubator. I'm going to try to incubate as many as I can. I just need some advice because it is winter and the temperature is usually between 25 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I have no other way of preserving eggs. I have close to 20 hens and 2 roosters. But I am only...
Yes, I only had 1 hen laying at the time. I hope I didn't drown the others. I just opened an egg that was 4 days late to see what happened. I saw no movement from candling and it seemed like there was loose parts just floating around, but it was still alive... I felt horrible. It seemed to be...
