My cockrell is a speckled Sussex and the hens vary but I don't have 2 of the same breed in the coop, all are different. I had 19 eggs incubating and so far 11 have hatched and 5 more are still in the process as I'm writing this. I know some are specked Sussex but the yellow and black ones I'm no so sure, there is a golden brown one in the second pic and in the third is a yellow one with grey on its back, thank you for reading! If you lmk what you think I'll let you know if I have that breed in the coop. I have no clue which hen layed what eggs but the eggs are mostly a pink color some are light brown.

Mixed breeds, hard to tell crosses.

Thanks for checking in, I figured it would be hard to tell but for instance there are 3 black ones, they look the exact same but I think from different colored eggs so I was curious as to how they look the same. If you know what I mean I'm not experienced in genetics but since those 3 came out the same is that a so called breed or is it just lucky they look identical since it's a mixed breed.

The ones that look alike may have mothers with some of the same color genes as each other.

It's usually easier if you give a list of possible breeds (or photos of the hens), and then people can look at the chick photos and the hens and point out which ones are likely to go together.

For example, I see a chick that is mostly black with a bit of yellow. The mother could be any breed that comes in black, blue, or chocolate, or any of those with white barring. Even if I leave out the ones that lay non-brown eggs, and the bantams, and the ones with feathered feet, that leaves quite a list of possibilities: Black Jersey Giant, Black Australorp, Blue Australorp, Barred Rock, Dominique, Cuckoo Marans, Black Sexlink, Blue Sexlink, Sapphire Gem, Chocolate Orpington, Black Copper Marans, etc.
