My broody one I've been making sure there aren't any eggs for her to sit on and try to keep her out of the nest as much as I can. I put her up to roost with the others when it gets dark too. I really wanted to avoid the cage but if it's necessary I'll do it. Is there any chance she'll break on...
I have a 9 month old isa brown that I've noticed will go and sit in the nesting box a couple times a day but doesn't lay an egg. I will usually see her come out after awhile and scratch around and put things on her back. Not sure if she's going broody? She was a little unwell with a slow/sour...
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to get some help/advice.
I have a 9 month old hen who was fine this morning but this afternoon I noticed she was fluffed up and not as energetic as she normally is. I saw her eat a little this afternoon and drink some water. Her crop is quite soft but I couldn't smell...
Hi everyone,
I would really like some advice on my 7 week old chick. I've been letting all my chicks out in the garden during the for the last couple of weeks. I have noticed one of the chicks is a little depressed (?) looking sometimes however most of the time she's still pretty active and...
From memory, her poop was a bit runny and had a bit of a bubbly oily appearance. She didn't sneeze but when she slept her breathing was a little heavy and she would breathe with her beak open a little.
I tried the hairtie but I don't know if the one I used was too small?
She couldn't walk with it, just kind of flopped around. I held her for a while and she slept but she refused to stand. She was in so much distress I ended up just taking it off. She's a fiesty one haha
Hi everyone. I have a chick that's almost 2 weeks old and I've just noticed her legs seem to be a little far apart. She is able to get around fine in the brooder but doesn't seem to stand up as tall as the others. Will she be ok as is or do I need to intervene in some way?
This is my first time...
She's doing well. It turned out she had an upper respiratory infection so I gave everyone antibiotics in their water for a few days. Now she seems much better 😊
I'm feeding chick starter crumble 20% protein.
They have a heat lamp that she'll sleep around the edge of sometimes.
I change their water every day or a couple times a day.
I gave her some scrambled eggs and hse gobbled them up.
