    No, I don't want to keep a light on. Too high a risk for fire. I don't mind a dropoff in production for the winter, but no eggs since August?! Hubby ain't happy!

    I've just about had it with my chooks... if they dont start laying again soon, I"m re-naming them Stew, Cacciatore, Nugget, Sandwich, and BBQ." Right now I am only giving one of them an "I'm still molting" pass.. the rest had better start earning their keep. And NO, nobody is sick.

    Snow chicken. Only 8 homes in Derby lost power...fortunately we are not one of those 8. Kids are loving it. Chooks think the sky is falling and are liking the tarp on top of the run.
