decided to let the trio of LB Leghorn Bantams out today to enjoy the evening. Been hectic so none of my exhibition birds have gotten outside time in a bit.
Im going to try to get some pictures, but i have Turken and Barnevelder chicks hatching tomorrow ad I'm SOOOOO excited!
I'm hoping some of these Barn. chicks are blue/blue carriers too
oh I'm gonna try this! I have a load of exhibition quality eggs from my SC White Leghorn flock and a cochin hen that went broody last May. It's warm where I live so a March hatch would be perfect!
Ah, the fall of a king. I've seen it happen with my flock before. As the others said, separation or removal are the only real options if things fail to work out. IF you choose to separate, I recommend giving your older roo a larger flock and leaving some of the younger hens for the OEGBmix.
that's ok! Marans tend to have fleshy/pinkish legs and feet, and Deleware's have yellow feet and legs like the sixth pic. My best guess is a cross of the two breeds, or a dirty footed Deleware with lemon genes
was unusually warm and sunny today in central California, so I busted the drone out and got a nice shot of the ranchette. peep the coops by the wonky pine tree lol
she has that light lemon coloring a lakeshore egger would have but lacks the crest. She may be a production-quality Marans or even a Delaware with the lemon cuckoo gene. Do you have pics of what she looked like as a chick?
