I now have nine chickens. Two Roos hit the pot :). They have done so well over the past year in this coop that I am looking to expand it! Planning to add on with a recycled swing/play set. New pics to come after expansion.

Might I add that I had the best egg sandwich EVER for dinner tonight!!

Thanks!! One of mine had very light speckles on it. So sorry about your RIR! That is hard. I started with 12 straight run. Ended up with 4 roos. I culled 2 roos last weekend bc I just didn't need 4. I tried for weeks to give them away and no takers. I have 8 hens and I am not sure who is laying...

Sorry, had to share. First time with chickens :-) Not sure which of my girls did this, but I am one happy Mama!! I was beginning to wonder as they are all 5 months old. I was paranoid that the first ones would come out deformed!

What is this?? This is the only one out of 12 straight run chickens that I am still questioning! Any guesses??

My first coop made from a camper top. I love the idea of recycling!! My chickens love it. The rear of the top opens for easy egg access.

I am positive that 5,6&8 are males. 9 is a possible roo. I think the others are hens. Yay

Any others on the sexes? Should I wait to see if any of the suspected roosters may be hens?

Thanks! That is good to know. There is a lot of variation in the guesses here so I guess I am just going to have to see who starts crowing!

I am still holding out hope for 1&4 to be pullets. No doubt about 5&6 being roos. 8 still has me stumped. It has a black comb that is bright red at the base. Thanks for all of the guesses!
