Well my babies are all doing great! IDEAL is such a fantastic company, I only paid 48 dollars for my entire order of 25 amerucanas pullets, and I received 26, and that is what Shipping would have been from McMurrys.
Mine sits out back near the chickens and they come running when they hear the lid pop, its smells gross to me but they love it, and they dive right in, I use a 5 gallon bucket and a wire scoop on a handle,( I guess like you would use in a deep fryer) and drain it and dump in in the pans. I use...
well my girls are 5 days old today and I could not be happier, everyone is happy and healthy and growing like a weed! I only live two hours from IDEAL and so the shipping was super fast! about 8 hours from the time they emailed me that they were shipping I was on the way to the post office~...
I have two small runts in my group of 15 RIRs, and they do just fine in with the big kids! They are 5-6 weeks old and they have never denied the small ones food ,and now that they are out in the coop they are catching up to the bigger ones. so I would just leave them together unless they were...
Yes I am not a city dweller, I live on several acres, and have a nice big chicken area the run is over 100 square feet now and will be enlarged before these chicks are big enough to be added to it. I have a big coop that my husband built with lots of room, in fact in the neighborhood of chicken...
I bought 15 straight run RIR a month ago, they are now 5 weeks old, well I have been looking for some pullets to add to the flock since I know I have at least 3 roosters, Ideal poultry is running Easter eggers pullets for 1.65! it in there specials tab! so I am expecting 25 pullets!
That's is what I am thinking, I have three tagged as roo's and another two that are questionable, oh well, I guess I will keep the one pictured and will probably send the others to the freezer when they are bigger.
My 15 RIR are 5 weeks and are in the coop full time and it drops to the 70's here over night, but they seem happy and content, if they get cold, there are plenty of each other to snuggle with. I do not put lamps in the coop for fear of fire.
