Hi to everyone, new and established!! I only have a minute to post, but I wanted to let y'all know that my Hubby made it home from his third deployment yesterday! ^_^ Thanks to all those who sent PMs of their appreciation and good wishes! I'll catch up here in a few days. I hope you all had a...
Aw man, I wish I could go. On the up side...my Hubby's coming home this weekend!! I hope everyone has a great time at the meet-up. We'll be celebrating here!
Wish I could make it, but that's a hefty drive and I'm heading to Columbia for Mother's Day anyway. Y'all have tons of fun!! Can you post pictures for the rest of us?
Hi all! I'm a new chicken owner in the Hinesville area - my husband is stationed at Ft Stewart. Right now we have four chicks around 3 weeks old. We're raising them for eggs (hopefully! - might have a roo) and pets. Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and look forward to getting to know some...
I posted in the What Breed/Gender forum, but no one had a sure answer on breed for my little bantam, Tiki. I've looked through this thread, and I'm wondering if s/he could be a Brown Leghorn Bantam. Is that even Here are some pictures:

Also there's a Tetra Tint thread in the Breeds, Genetics, & Showing forum...

I guess my next concern is what to do with him. If y'all are...
That's what I thought, that TSC wouldn't have them. And I guess it was more the coloring that seemed similar to me. I just can't find anything that seems to match my little (likely) Roo. But then, I'm very new at this, so my opinions are not the most reliable. lol Thanks for chiming in!
I'm posting new pix of Tiki, my unidentified ~3-week-old bantam chick (purchased from TSC 04/15/11). I've been looking through all the bantam breeds, and the only one I've found that looks anything like him/her (to my very untrained eye) is the Serama. Tiki has 4 toes, clean legs that are yellow...

Do you have a water filter? We have really hard water here too, and it doesn't taste good at all. I installed an under-the-counter water filter which has helped a LOT with taste and deposits. You could use a filter pitcher or faucet filter if you don't want to go to the trouble of...
