    Shell-less egg?

    My RIR Rosie is well into her first molt, she is 1 1/2 years old. She hasn't laid in egg in some time and is not interested in the calcium. I have upped her protein intake. This morning she laid and egg without a shell. Has this happened to anyone else?

    OK so I have this RIR that is about 1.5 years old. I know I should be expecting molt. I don't see lots of missing feathers or anything, but she stopped laying eggs and is not interested in crushed oyster shell or egg shell. I she experiencing and EASY molt?

    I boiled the little shell-less egg to feed it to the girls this morning. It was perfect except no shell! Found it in the middle of the coop. not in a nesting box. I was gone all day so they resisted eating it for the day. I love my ladies!

    I have two new bared Plymouth rocks. Maybel has laid 3 eggs... last week. One was in the run, the others in the nest. Nothing since. Anyone else have a girl tease you with a few eggs, then slacking? Could it be the heat?

    Recently I bought two point of lay Plymouth Barred Rocks. Maybel began laying eggs in the nest last week. She laid two, took a day off and then laid 4. She hasn't laid an egg for three days now! Anyone know what gives?
