Ok thanks! I left the brooder box set up so I'll just bring them back inside. At least they got a little fresh air and to play in their run and check out the new coop.
I'm in Humble Texas, right outside of Houston. It's been in the 70s-80s the last couple days and we put our 3 week old chicks out in the coop today. They're pretty excited and seem happy. I just looked at the forecast for tonight and is going to dip into the 50s. Is that too cold for 3 weekers...
Thanks CT! I was getting overwhelmed with info in my searches. Starter feed, grower feed, scratch. I knew not to give them tons of "treats" but I was worried they'd starve I guess. even though they ate at the farm in the morning.
Yesterday (Sunday), I went to "check out" the chicken breeder in my area. Of course I came home with 3 2-weekers. I didn't think it through because the feed stores were closed on Sunday. I have my brooder set up but no feed and no waterer. My local pet shop had nothing but tiny mealworms...
Quick question... should there be a nesting box for each chicken in a coop? I am reading that the pre-fab coops from China are crap but are there any that are good?
