I just acquired this hen from a local backyard flock. She is about 6months and we are wondering if she is maybe sick. Have you ever seen eye sockets like this on a hen?
So we are hoping that they are dark. We are pretty sure that they are Buff Brahma. We saved them from the RK as they are probably getting a little older and were the last two. Can you help us identify?

I've not had any issues with mice or rats or any other vermin yet. From what I gather, they will eventually find our coop after a few years. I don't keep food in the area, just in my garage. I am going to throw some hardware cloth to block her in at night starting today!
I do have some options for chick feeders and waterer. I like to wet the chick food prior to giving, so a gravity feeder isn't up to the task, but I have one I'll use. Thanks for being part of such a welcoming community!
