- You always have helpful, even life saving tips for hens. Today I found my hen with her skin torn off. We washed the area with water and a ⅓ of hydrogen peroxide and removed as much of the pine shavings in the wound. All we could think of was fileting aloe vera plant and applying it to her flesh then covering with a towel and wrapping her up with bandage. Crushed baby asprin and gave it to her with water. Your site gave me added hope as I don't know who else to ask. Thank you for peace if mind.
