Our duck has been sat on eggs, 14 in total and this morning appeared with four ducklings, and has appeared to have abandoned the nest. Shall I put her and her ducklings in a safe place, or is she likely to go back and sit on the remaining eggs?
Nope we are all organic fincas! I also thought of poisoning, but why havnt all the chicks been affected? one of the batch is perfect, 2 are looking ill....the other mums and chicks are fine......I am at a loss and dont want it to happen with any others
they are free range chickens, The older ones run around the fruit orchards, the mums and chicks get moved to a separate pen once they are born as there is a furrow that runs through the orchard, and fear of drowning is too high. The new mum and her 12 chicks were put in the pen with another mum...
Hi, the second batch we have had, the first lot were born 3 weeks ago and are fine, healthy and running around, I know I am a novice but I really dont know what I did wrong :-(
We had 12 chicks born the other day, and they were all doing great. I fed them earlier with mum and went out, when I got back 8 were dead and 2 dont look too well at all. I am devastated......and have no idea why they died, any idea??????
