Need help determining genders of my 5 button quail! 🤷‍♀️

It turned out that 4 are male, 1 female (Speckles). She’s laying regular, fertile eggs…maybe the lonely bachelors will luck out and she’ll hatch a few hens for them.

    Mourning my male quail 😞

I’m so sorry for your loss. We can’t possibly predict every outcome of every situation. You loved these guys and devoted your time, attention, affection, and emotion. We all know you’re a good bird mama; try not to be so hard on yourself… not your fault. I know you miss him. :( 🩷

🥰CUTEST PICS HERE! Help, button quail expert needed. 🥰

I was amazed at how different the juvenile color and patterns were from the hatchling’s. An all yellow chick ended up looking like this:

    Button quail chicks all together

Oh, whew. I’ve seen some nasty wounds on coturnix posts. I’m a first time button mama, and looking at upgrading the brooder to a much larger enclosure. I’m just worried I may have a large male to female ratio. I can’t tell. 😕

    Accidentally got button quail

Aww, but they’re so cute when they hatch, and you just can’t help but get attached to those bumble-bee sized birds. I keep a few as pets, and even my bird-hating husband loves them. There’s very little you’d be getting rid of at day 2 of incubation. Not much more than a germinal disc...

Help! 5 button quail. Any girls in the group at all?

I initially thought I had two male/3female, and them 3male/2 female. Now I’m leaning toward just one female. I don’t know! I can’t get foam out of anyone and probably am not doing it correctly. I don’t want to hurt them. Three of them are about 6 weeks and the other two brown ones are 4...

    Hello!

Hi! I’m Melissa from Georgia and have 5 button quail. I was incubating many more eggs, but found out hubby was laid off and we had to move, so I gave the ready-to-hatch eggs to a lady with a farm who wanted them. At least they went to a good home. :( All 20 hatched, so I guess I did...
