Thanks for the unanimous answer of PULLET! She was from a farm that had Ameraucanas and BR's running around. I only have a year old BR hen, and hoping to add more to the flock. Just isn't quite legal yet in Toronto.

I'm new to this chicken stuff...when are EE's expected to lay? and are they typically good layers? I do hope it's a hen!

My last two pullets turned out to be roos... they have been rehomed. Now I only have one more that is questionable... I think it's a Barred Rock and Ameraucana mix, about 10 weeks old. Is it a roo or pullet?

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

Thank you all for responding unanimously that it's a roo. I hope to find a good home for him. This is a GREAT forum.

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

It's the nesting box, I stapled my daughter's princess skirt for a privacy curtain. This is their temporary run until we get a real coop built.

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

It's a single comb, and just growing in. I've read in the forums that on occasion, some hens will crow... so I was just hoping....

    Barred Rock Roo or Hen?

14 weeks old, just started crowing every morning... she's lovely so I'm hoping it's just a thing she's going thru...body looks like a hen, but she's been crowing for a week. We have no other roosters, just 2 smaller mutts, and a bossy dominant one-year old hen. I'm in the Toronto if indeed it is...

    Hello from Toronto

Hi Everyone, New to the world of chickens, and new to this forum. Found out my pullets are roos. Does anyone need a very pretty cockeral age approx 15 weeks? good temperment. I'm still hoping the crowing is just a phase she's going thru, and that an egg is soon coming!
